CAPTAIN FELIX will be our first ever runner at Perth tomorrow. He needs 2 miles on a right handed track and Perth and Market Rasen are the only 2 summer jump tracks that fit this criteria. It is a valuable 2 mile handicap and it was the only available race for him so we thought it was worth the chance. His 2 runs back after a break have been excellent, a win and 4th in a listed handicap. His form has improved for the break and he cold conceivably be in better form now than he was before his last run. There are only 6 runners and Jack Quinlan is going to ride him so lets hope the long journey is worthwhile for him. We are hopeful that the rain will stay away as he needs good or quicker ground.
CLOSEST FRIEND runs at Market Rasen tomorrow evening in a 12 runner 2 mile 5 furlong novice handicap chase. He needed his first run back at Huntingdon badly and was running and jumping very well at Stratford last time out when the saddle slipped and he had to be pulled up. He is stepping up in trip which should suit him now he is getting older. The good ground will be ideal for him and he is a course winner. Gina Andrew takes the ride and she should suit him very well. She won on CAPTAIN FELIX for us on this course so it would be nice if she could do that again! CLOSEST FRIEND is in good form at home and has come on for his last run so we are hopeful of a good run from him tomorrow.
