Ice Slice victorious at Newbury

Friday, October 24, 2014
ICE SLICE bounced back to winning form at Newbury this afternoon. He loved the soft ground and won by 3 lengths. There was a strong pace early on which helped him and Ryan was worried he got to the front too soon but he stuck to his task and did it well. Hopefully there will be another suitable race for him before the turf season finishes.
SPA'S DANCER runs in a 10 furlong handicap at Newbury tomorrow and surprisingly there are only 9 runners. We were baffled by his last run at Leicester. He is either over the top, but has shown no sign of it at home or the ground was possibly still on the firm side. He acts on the the track as he ran well at Newbury in the Spring Cup and will like the soft ground tomorrow. He has also been dropped 2 pounds from Leicester so is back on a competitive mark of 98. The race has cut up so if he bounces back to form he would have a chance.
