Two runners at home track tomorrow

Thursday, June 19, 2014
ICE SLICE and NIMBLE KIMBLE make the short journey to the Newmarket July course tomorrow evening. ICE SLICE runs in a 10 furlong handicap and he is drawn 9 of the 10 runners. He was a bit disappointing over a mile at Newmarket last time out but we take the blame for giving the jockey the wrong instructions. He had previously won over a mile on softer ground, but we feel he will be better suited by faster conditions which he will get tomorrow. He is stepping up in trip but we have every reason to think he will stay especially on faster ground. If the trip and ground do suit him then he should run very well, on his home work he is capable of winning off his current mark.
NIMBLE KIMBLE runs in a mile handicap and she is drawn 3 of the 9 runners. She has run over a mile once before but it was on more testing ground than this. She has form on all types of ground but we do feel that a mile on this ground will suit her well. She is so consistent and keeps being put up by the handicapper for being placed. We are hoping that the combination of the ground and the trip will bring about a bit of improvement and if it does then she will go close tomorrow.
