Spa's Dancer Goes for Gold at Redcar

Monday, May 26, 2014
SPA'S DANCER steps up in trip to a mile and 2 furlongs in the Zetland Gold Cup at Redcar this afternoon. He was declared on going described as good to soft, good in places and we had hoped that the ground would dry back to good ground for this afternoon's racing.  Unfortunately Redcar had rain overnight on Saturday changing the going to good to soft, soft in places.  However there was no rain at Redcar yesterday and overnight and a dry day is forecast today.  SPA'S DANCER loves soft ground but we were hoping for good ground to help him get the extra 2 furlongs.  With a dry day forecast it is possible the ground might be no worse than good to soft by 4.15 this afternoon.  Both Ryan Moore and Jim Crowley have thought that he could well stay further than a mile when they have ridden him. Graham Lee will suit SPA'S DANCER very well and if he gets the trip, he has the form and ability to win.
