Two runners at Warwick tomorrow

Tuesday, March 18, 2014

Both LONDON SKOLAR and his half sister IRON BUTTERFLY run at Warwick tomorrow. LONDON SKOLAR runs in a 2 miles 5 furlongs maiden hurdle race and there are 18 runners. Unfortunately he fell in his first run over hurdles at the same track last month. That race was over 2 miles on tiring ground and he was rather taken off his feet, hopefully the longer trip tomorrow will suit him better. He has always been a very good jumper at home and has schooled well since his fall so hopefully he will have more luck tomorrow.

IRON BUTTERFLY runs in the 2 miles 5 furlongs mares only handicap hurdle, she has 10 opponents. She has not run since her win at Doncaster at the end of December, this has purely been because of the going, it has been too wet everywhere for her. Her best form is on good to soft ground. Ironically the ground may have dried up too much for her now as the ground is being given as good at Warwick today but they did have some rain this morning. She is in good form at home and should run well providing the ground is OK for her. Jack Quinlan takes the ride on both horses.
