Himlayan Peak makes debut

Monday, October 29, 2012
HIMALAYAN PEAK, who is a half brother to ORCADIAN and RAPSCALLION, makes his racecourse debut at Yarmouth tomorrow. The ground is heavy there and normally we would be wary of running a 2 year old first time out on this ground but he apears to enjoy cut in the ground at home so it seemed worth taking a chance. It is a mile maiden race and there are only 6 runners. He is very much a horse for next year so we hope he runs an encouraging race tomorrow. Ryan Tate takes the ride, his father rode several groups winners for the family so hopefully he will give him some useful advice!
BAAN also runs at Yarmouth in a mile and 6 furlong 46-55 handicap for 4 year olds and upwards. This is a drop in grade for him and there are no 3 year olds to give lots of weight too so hopefully he can run well. The ground is a bit of an unknown, he acts well on soft ground but is not proven on heavy. Ryan also gets the ride on him and takes a useful 7 pounds off his back.
