VIKING ROSE kicks off proceedings tomorrow at Brighton in the afternoon. She runs in a 7 furlong fillies handicap and is set to carry top weight of 9st12lbs. To reduce the burden she will be ridden by apprentice Danny Brock who has nearly ridden out his 7 pound claim so is an experienced rider at this grade. She has won at Brighton before and has won over 7 furongs but there is a slight concern that this trip may be too sharp for her on this track. They will water and if they then get rain aswell it will help her chance. She is consistent and genuine so deserves to win another race, let's hope she can tomorrow.
BALCARY BAY and TIGHT LIPPED both run at Kempton in the evening. The surface there has been renovated and is riding as slow ground which should suit both of them. BALCARY BAY, who ran very well on his debut at Yarmouth on soft ground, runs in the mile maiden and is well drawn in 2. We were delighted with his first run and hope he can translate his turf form to the polytrack. TIGHT LIPPED runs in the mile handicap and is also well drawn in 1. He will be ridden by Richard Hughes who was on board when he was second at Ascot. It will be interesting to see if he can transfer his turf form to the polytrack, if so he should run well.
SUZI'S A CLASS ACT heads for local track Yarmouth in the evening. They had 22mm of rain last night and anymore would help her chance. She is dropping back in trip to 14 furlongs purely because there are no suitable 2 mile races. There are only 6 runners but one of those is SEVEN VEILS who she finished behind in her last run at the same weight. She will be ridden by 3 pound claimer Adam Beschizza to give her a better chance at the weights as the handicapper won't adjust it himself! She is a very genuine filly and she is definitely capable of winning a race.
