SOUTH AFRICAN GOLD makes the short journey to Newmarket racecourse on Friday evening. He runs in a mile handicap and will be aided by a pair of blinkers. His work at home is better than he has so far shown on the racecourse so James Eustace is hoping the blinkers will have a positive effect on his performance. All his form to date has been on the polytrack and he is Amercian bred so it is possible that he he is best suited by the artificial tracks. William Carson takes the ride on Friday and although he has not ridden him in his previous races he rode him at home quite alot last year so is well aquainted with the horse.
