James Eustace saddles his first turf runners of the new flat season at Folkestone tomorrow. TORRAN SOUND runs in the 6 furlong maiden, there are 9 runners. He was also entered in the 7 furlong maiden race but it looked a stronger race. He may find the shorter trip a bit on the sharp side at this stage. KARKY SCHULTZ, fit from a hurdling campaign, runs in the 12 furlong apprentice handicap for apprentices who have not ridden more than 10 winners. His jockey, Lee Topliss, has ridden exactly 10 winners so he should have the best available assistance from the saddle. He should have a good chance as long as the ground does not dry out too much as he does like to get his toes in.
SINGIN' THE BLUES heads for Yarmouth on Tuesday to contest the 6 furlong handicap. There are 9 runners and he is drawn well in 4. It looks a competitive race on paper as there are several with recent form which will have an obvious fintness advantage. He seems in good form at home but is likely to need this first run. Hopefully the trip won't be too short fo him as he appears to have sharpened up at home over the winter.
