Artist ready to go to War

Friday, October 02, 2009

WAR ARTIST is in excellent form and ready for his assault on the Group 1 Prix de L'Abbaye at Longchamp on Sunday. James Eustace says he is as well as he has been all season and is hoping he can give him his first group 1 victory. On all known form he must have a decent chance. He does not have to carry a penalty this time. He will be ridden again by Olivier Peslier, who rode him to victory in his last race, a trial for Sunday's contest. He is drawn 9 of the 16 runners and has 2 of the fancied horses, Fleeting Spirit and Borderlescott, next to him. Lets hope that one of the horses drawn near him can make the running and give WAR ARTIST a nice lead and he can capture this Group 1 event. It would be so exciting for all connections of the horse and it would mean so much to the whole yard. We wish them the very best of luck.
Tomorrow night the 2 year old SINGIN' THE BLUES makes his debut at Wolverhampton. Like many of the other horses in the yard he has been waiting for soft ground. He is a nice horse who shows plenty of speed at home but James Eustace feels he may be a bit green on his first run. He is not well drawn in 9 of 13 and if he misses the break he will find it difficult to get involved on this track. He will hopefully run a promising race as he does go nicely at home.
