Tuesday is a busy day with four runners at 2 different meetings, 1 on the flat and 3 over hurdles. MEDIAN is our first runner of the day at Nottingham in a mile novice median auction race. She is drawn 12 of the 12 runners and will be ridden by Ryan Tate. She didn't run very well on debut at Wolverhampton but we think it was too sharp and everything happened too quickly so she never got into the race. We ran there as the only alternative was heavy ground on the turf which we wanted to avoid for her debut. We have stepped her up to a mile this time. It is unfortunate that she is badly drawn tomorrow but hopefully Ryan can get her to break well and get her into a good position and she can run a race and give us some encouragement. Her home form suggests she is good enough to run a decent race.
The other 3 runners are all at Huntingdon evening meeting and Jack Quinlan rides them all. DEDUCE makes her debut in handicap company over hurdles and doesn't seem unreasonably handicapped. We put her away over the winter as we felt she wouldn't get 2 miles over hurdles on soft ground. She jumps well and on good ground we could see her running well at this level.
WIND PLACE AND SHO is also unsuited by heavy ground so we gave him a short break which he seems to have benefitted from. He is running in a 2 1/2 mile handicap hurdle and this trip should suit him. On his flat form an easy track over this distance on good ground should be ideal for him but he may just need the run.
AVIATOR ran a very encouraging race at Kempton over an inadequate trip of 2 mile 5 furlongs. He is stepping up to 3 miles 1 furlong tomorrow which is much more suitable for him. We ran him at Kempton purely because we wanted good ground for him.The weather was very hot that day and they went very quick so he did well to stay in touch and stayed on well in the closing stages. We were very encouraged by his resolution that day so we have kept the cheekpieces on him. With conditions much more in his favour tomorrow we can see him running very well.
