LONGSIDE steps up in trip to a mile and 6 furlongs at Nottingham tomorrow. He is drawn 2 of the 7 runners and Ryan Tate takes the ride. He is bred on similar lines to stable companion SANDY COVE who is a winner over this trip so we felt it was trying LONGSIDE over the same distance. He has been done no favours by the handicapper after his win over 12 furlongs so it seems a good time to experiment over a longer trip as it will give us more options if he stays. We were a bit baffled by his last run as, although it was a step up in class, we expected him to run better than he did. He was fine after the race and his last 2 bits of work have been good so he is very well in himself. The track and the ground will suit him tomorrow so we are hoping for the best.
