Toriano triumphs at Kempton

Thursday, April 7, 2016
TORIANO rounded off a very good day for the yard by winning on his racecourse debut at Kempton last night. He had been working well at home so we were hopeful of a good run and he won in good style. We were delighted with the way he won and the attitude he showed, he looks a nice prospect. We are very grateful to the owners for sending him to us, who also own SIR NOTE. He has won twice from 2 starts so this win made it 3 from 3. A very good strike rate so far, long may it continue!
Earlier in the day one of the yards longer serving servants, SPA'S DANCER, had showed that his recent spell over jumps had done him no harm as he finished a good second at Nottingham. He has lost none of his ability or fight as it was very testing ground and he battled on well in the closing stages. He is a real favourite in the yard so we were all delighted to see him run so well. He has really loved his jumping over the winter but just doesn't get the trip,  it is a shame there are no hurdle races over 1 1/2 miles!
