Butterfly to get New Year off to a flier

Thursday, January 7, 2016
IRON BUTTERFLY will be our first runner of the New Year tomorrow and hopefully she can get us off to a flying start. She runs in a 2 1/2 mile mares only handicap hurdle race at Doncaster. There are only 6 runners and Jack Quinlan, who knows her so well, will take the ride.  The only slight concern is the drop back in trip as she does seem better suited to 3 miles these days but she has won over this trip on this course. She has won twice at Doncaster including last time out in December so clearly likes the track. The ground will be heavy tomorrow so her stamina will come into play and she has won on heavy ground earlier in her jumping career. She seems in good form at home so we hope she can get the year off to a good start tomorrow.
