Rain good for Dancer's chances at Goodwood

Monday, July 27, 2015
The recent rain is very welcome for SPA'S DANCER who runs in the 10 furlong handicap at Goodwood tomorrow. There are 18 runners and he is drawn 5. It has been a very frustrating season for him so far as he has been ticking over waiting for the rain to come. Even if they don't get any more rain there the ground should not be any drier than the slow side of good so it will be fine for him. On the few occasions the ground has been right he has run well this season and seems in good form at home. He will be ridden tomorrow by promising apprentice Tom Marquand who claims a very valuable 5 pounds off his back, this puts him well in at the weights on his best form. You have to go back a few years in the form book but he did finish second at Goodwood as a 3 year old so has form on the track. These races are always tricky to win and you need a little bit of luck but hopefully he can run a big race tomorrow.
