CHIEF SPIRIT is declared to run at Sandown tomorrow in a 10 furlong handicap. He is well drawn in stall 3 of the 10 runners and Paul Hanagan has ben booked to ride him. He ran at Sandown earlier in the season but that was over a mile and he did not get the best of runs. James Doyle rode him that day and reported that he thought he would be suited by further so he ran over 10 furlongs next time out at Pontefract and ran well to finish third. The ground was on the fast side that day and it didn't really suit him so if they don't get the rain that is forecast he will not run tomorrow.
AVIATOR heads back to Market Rasen on Sunday where he is a course winner over 2 miles 4 1/2 furlongs. He steps up in trip this time to 2 miles 7 furlongs but when he won there the further he went the better he went so we hope the trip will suit him. He will need to find some improvement as he is stepping up in class but he gets in at the bottom of the handicap on 10 stone 6 pounds so he will receive weight from all the other horses. There are 10 runners and Jack Quinlan takes the ride. He has ridden him on both his previous wins over hurdles so let's hope they can make it 3 on Sunday!
