Trio of chances tomorrow

Wednesday, May 20, 2015
MAJOR CRISPIES, NIMBLE KIMBLE and CHIEF SPIRIT all run tomorrow and they all put up good performances last time out. MAJOR CRISPIES starts proceedings at Goodwood in the afternoon, he runs in a 7 furlong handicap and is drawn 4 of the 9 runners. He has been in good form at home since his recent win over 6 furlongs at Windsor, the extra furlong at Goodwood shouldn't be a problem. He has been put up 4 pounds for his win but on his best form in previous seasons he is still well handicapped. Unfortunately Adam Kirby can't so the weight on him tomorrow so James Doyle takes over, hopefully he can be equally as effective on him. He wouldn't want too much more rain but the forecast suggests the ground should remain good.
CHIEF SPIRIT and NIMBLE KIMBLE both run at Sandown in the evening. It will be a first run in handicap company for CHIEF SPIRIT. He is drawn 6 of the 10 runners and James Doyle takes the ride on him too.  He ran very well at Newbury last time out and was given a rating of 80 which would seem  a fair rating. It will be interesting to see how he goes but we hope he can run a decent race. Good ground or even on the fast side of good should be ideal for him.
NIMBLE KIMBLE runs in a 9 furlong fillies only handicap and is drawn 3  of the 10 runners. She ran very well last time out at Doncaster finishing second over 10 furlongs, she got the trip that day but dropping back to 9 furlongs on a stiff track like Sandown could be the ideal distance for her. Adam Kirby takes the ride on her again. She is due to go up 3 pounds in the future so in theory she is well in tomorrow. We were delighted with her last run and she appears to have come out if it well so we hope she can run equally well again tomorrow.
