Happy New Year
Tues 6th January 2009
|
Firstly the editor would like to say Happy New Year to all readers and let's hope there are plenty of winners to look forward to in 2009. The current cold snap has put paid to any runners over jumps during the next few days but the all weather fortunately lives up to it's name. FARSIGHTED returns to the flat tomorrow at Kempton in a 7 furlong handicap. She has had a spell over hurdles but appears not to quite get the trip. She has been running perfectly genuinely though and now she is better handicapped could be an interesting runner back on the level. She has an outside draw but the plan will be to hold her up so it shouldn't be a disadvantage.
On Thursday WHISTLEUPTHEWIND takes a drop in class and runs in a 6 furlong selling race at Great Leighs. Her last couple of runs have been disappointing but she seems in good form at home and if she puts her best foot forward she is not without a chance especially from a good draw. She is arguably better on turf but Great Leighs may just suit her.
James Eustace is keen to run KHARKY SCHULTZ at Warwick on Saturday but the forecast is for the cold weather to continue until the end of the week so it is unlikely to be on. Any other plans for the jumping string are on hold until this weather relents.
